The Open University designs, builds and evaluates next generation software tools for online collaboration, enquiry, sensemaking and learning analytics, while University of Bristol has developed software tools specifically to scaffold their work on Learning Power and Authentic Enquiry.

The two institutions are now working in collaboration to exploit their respective expertise to define a new generation of tools for the Learning Emergence  network, designed to scaffold learners in engaged, authentic learning — whether children or adults, studying academically or in workplace contexts.

Since the Learning Emergence network is itself a sensemaking community engaged in its own enquiry, we hope that the tools will support the network in sharing and reflecting on its work, and we welcome partners to help test and evaluate them.
